Students are taught the technical codes and conventions that are needed when constructing a film, storyboards, script writing, textual analysis, audience reception theories, advertising, magazines, television industry, digital editing skills, new media technologies, digital marketing, gaming, web design, and investigating the power of the media.

Subjects that combine well with Media Studies are English, History, Psychology and Sociology.
