Music integrates the three components of performing, composing and appraising through the study of various musical traditions. At AS the Western Classical tradition is explored through the study of orchestral music. Modern musical idioms are also encountered through musical theatre or jazz, rock and pop.
At A2, a study of twentieth century music through a detailed set work provides a broad basis for entrance to university and musical careers.
