Students will develop a range of performing skills from the following disciplines of musical theatre or acting including: singing and dancing, development of characterisation, audition skills, and singing technique. Students will also take part in full-scale productions including musical theatre, pantomime and plays. Many of these occur outside timetabled hours so commitment to the subject is paramount.

Performing Arts students have gone on to Musical Theatre or Acting courses.

Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs grade A* – C, including English and Drama and/or Music (if studied). All prospective students will need to pass an audition in front of the Performing Arts teaching team to gain successful entry onto these courses. The audition standard will be based on the BTEC National performance assessment criteria, and will take place during the summer term. All students who wish to pursue Performing Arts as a career should include this in their application form and mention this to the teachers before their audition.
