Product Design is an inspiring, rigorous and practical subject.
Product Design is concerned with the application of skills, knowledge and understanding, of innovation, product analysis, human responsibility, public interaction, materials and components.
This specification encourages learners to use creativity when applying iterative design processes to develop and modify designs, and to design and make prototypes that solve real world problems, considering their own and others’ needs, wants, aspirations and values.
What Next?
With the wide skill set you will gain in Design Technology you can take the course in to many different academic and vocational careers.
The main areas of interest and career pathways for students include Engineering, Architecture, Product Manufacturing, Graphic or Fashion Design.
Entry Requirements
6 GCSE A* – C Grades.
Study of Art or DT GCSE is desirable but not essential. If no DT or Art GCSE then GCSE in Mathematics and English Grade C.
